Expectations:
Teen will fill a variety of roles from beach cleanups at our adoptive beach, Coconut Point Park to lighting research year round and summer sea turtle work. Applicants must be 13-17 years old.
Applications accepted year round with all trainings needing completed prior to work beginning. Meaning if summer is your choice, sea turtle trainings must be completed in Spring.

Parents are encouraged to join Teens while volunteering and must provide liability release with permission forms found HERE.
Roles:
Teens need to choose 1 day per month to perform a beach cleanup at Coconut Point Park, Melbourne Beach Fl.
Which can be coordinated as a group. If Teens are participating in our Teen Research group perfoming lighting surveys, or hatchling orientation indexing, clean up obligation do not apply.
Students can also gain credit from their volunteer hours for school credit. Valuable skills for a variety of careers can be obtained through this opportunity as well as making new friends, earning potential employment references, gaining research and work experience, and feeling a sense of confidence in oneself are just a few more reasons to apply.
Homeschool research groups meet once weekly for the Teen Research lighting program at the Melbourne Beach Library and coordination must begin at the beginning of the Fall Semester. Commitment includes working together in a group, being flexible with light intensity data collection dates and various requested tasks. Parents are also a part of this area of work and join in on all the fun! If you are interested in this part of our programs please email Ashley
