Jan 6th-May 26th Grades 9th-12th (mature 8th graders admitted) Homework Level 3 course $10 Weekly Tuition Coure Description: This collection of studies will guide high school students interested and invested in careers or activism in environmental and conservation fields. The class will follow a rotational flow of informative group studies followed up with practical and applicable peer led discussions and projects. The sampler will also include several guest speakers, field trips and problem solving opportunities. Your students will throughly understand some of the most difficult environmental issues we face today and grow in advocacy skills needed to make a difference in their world. Some field trips and discoveries being considered and scheduled for this course would be visiting a local ranch, visiting an oyster farm and even hearing from business owners who are matching their enterprises with giving back to their community. This course will be hands on and a lot of fun! |
Hands-On Geology
Jan 6th-May 26th Grades 6th-8th (mature 5th graders admitted if a parent stays on-site) Level 2 course $10 Weekly Tuition Course Desciption: In this middle school level Geology course students will explore how earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, and erosion change rocks to shape Earth’s tallest mountains and deepest caves. This course will cover the following topics through hands-on interactive activities: Plate tectonics Weathering and soil Structure and composition of the atmosphere Human impact on resources The Earth-sun-moon system |
