Eco Explorers
The Eco Explorers program at Stella Maris Environmental Research is an outdoor adventure-based initiative designed for children aged 5-11. Classes are hour-long, science focused, hands on and fun lessons. Through playful and hands-on exploration, the program fosters a deep connection with nature while promoting the development of social, cognitive, physical, and emotional skills.
Children love to play, anywhere, any time, all the time (aren't we right parents).
Play with experience is how children develop their brains and make sense of the vast world around them. Sizes, shapes, symmetry, numbers, weight distribution, group cooperation, dexterity, failure, success, biology, ecology and so much more can be gained from exploring the outdoors while having fun.
Children will engage in fun activities that introduce them to the wonders of biology, ecology, and the environment, all while learning through experience. With no cost to families, thanks to generous donations, Eco Explorers offers a dynamic and enriching way for children to grow, learn, and connect with the natural world.
Best of all, the program is completely free, thanks to the generous donations we receive from people like you. With new activities added regularly, Eco Explorers invites children to discover the outdoors and learn through play in a safe, engaging environment!

Themes
The themes we touch on during our explorations are and have been the beach habitat, the maritime hammocks, Shore birds, Manatees, trails and Florida hiking 101, Wave action, Stewardship and what that means to our changing climate, sea turtles, native plants, ocean currents, scientific data collection and analysis, water quality, environmental toxins and so many more!
Donations to our programs promote connecting youth with their natural environment; this is paramount when concerning mental health and overall well being of little developing people. Stella's Eco Explorers elicit wonder and awe for the awesome creation we get to enjoy on our planet and more specifically in our local county.
