Eco Explorers
The Eco Explorers program at Stella Maris Environmental Research is designed to engage children aged 5-11 in fun and educational outdoor experiences. Through hands-on explorations, children develop important social, cognitive, physical, and emotional skills while learning about the natural world. Each adventure introduces concepts like biology, ecology, and problem-solving, encouraging growth without judgment. Best of all, the program is completely free, thanks to the generous donations we receive. With new activities added regularly, Eco Explorers invites children to discover the outdoors and learn through play in a safe, engaging environment!
Eco Explorations are offered once per month at Spessard Holland South Beach Park, Pavilion 2 and the beach.
The goal of these classes are to help families find innovative ways to connect to the outdoors and their children. We encourage participation of all family members.

Themes
The themes we touch on during our explorations are and have been the beach habitat, the maritime hammocks, Shore birds, Manatees, trails and Florida hiking 101, Wave action, Stewardship and what that means to our changing climate, sea turtles, native plants, ocean currents, scientific data collection and analysis, water quality, environmental toxins and so many more!
Donations to our programs promote connecting youth with their natural environment; this is paramount when concerning mental health and overall well being of little developing people. Stella's Eco Explorers elicit wonder and awe for the awesome creation we get to enjoy on our planet and more specifically in our local county.
